Pfizer and Wyeth patient assistance

Patients and health care professionals will see no immediate changes to the Pfizer and Wyeth patient assistance programs now that Wyeth is a wholly owned subsidiary of Pfizer Inc. These programs will continue to run separately until the integration is complete by mid-2010. This will ensure that patients using either or both programs continue to get their medicines, uninterrupted.

Patients needing assistance with Wyeth medicines, Pfizer medicines, or both, should continue using the Wyeth patient assistance programs and the Pfizer Helpful Answers patient assistance programs just as they do today.

Unemployed patients in need of Wyeth medicines may be eligible for assistance.
Due to Pfizer’s recent acquisition of Wyeth, Pfizer is extending the benefits of MAINTAIN to patients who need help staying on their Wyeth medicines if they become unemployed and uninsured. For more information or to apply, please have your patient call 1-800-568-9938.

Pfizer will work to seamlessly transition Wyeth members and Wyeth medicines into the Pfizer Helpful Answers family of patient assistance programs.

Our goal is to ensure that the next generation of Pfizer Helpful Answers remains as patient-focused and user-friendly as it is today, once the integration of the Pfizer and Wyeth patient assistance programs is complete by mid-2010.

Pfizer is committed to keeping patients and health care professionals informed as any changes take place.

Pfizer Helpful Answers will provide assistance with more medicines in more therapeutic areas than ever before, once the transition of Wyeth programs into Pfizer Helpful Answers is complete.

The expanded Pfizer Helpful Answers program will have numerous benefits, including:

• Less paperwork to be completed by your eligible patients because only one application will be required for the one program versus two programs today
• Savings on Wyeth medicines through more than 95% of U.S. pharmacies through the Pfizer Pfriends^® savings program
• The availability of Wyeth medicines through community health centers and disproportionate share hospitals that are part of the Pfizer Helpful Answers institutional program network
• Availability of Wyeth medicines through Together Rx Access^®, a program sponsored by America's pharmaceutical companies including Pfizer, providing savings on more than 300 brand-name prescription products. Savings are also available on generics
